Man Threatened To Kill Residents Of Long Island Home After Attempted Burglary, Police Say

A 21-year-old was apprehended after police say he attempted to burglarize a Long Island home and then threatened to kill the residents.

Anthony Ayala attempted to enter a home without permission on Elizabeth Street in Farmingdale at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, July 4 by pushing in a bedroom air conditioner after attempting entry through other locked areas of the home, Nassau County Police said. 

Once confronted, Ayala, a Farmingdale resident, threatened to kill everyone inside the residence, according to police. 

The residents were able to call the police and Ayala was arrested by officers without any further incident.

Ayala has been charged with third-degree attempted burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Mineola on Monday, July 5.
