Gerald “Hit” Rockhead Jr., 37, of Waterbury and Terrance Howard, 58 of Danbury were nabbed after officers with the department's Special Investigation Division executed the warrants for Rockhead's vehicle and residence at 2A High Ridge Road in Danbury, police said.
The warrants were issued as a result of a month-long drug trafficking investigation involving Rockhead, said Det. Luis Ramos.
On Tuesday, Rockhead Jr. and his vehicle were seized on Montgomery Street in Danbury. During the search officers found he was in possession of crack cocaine, which was bagged and ready for sale, Ramos said.
Howard, who was meeting with Rockhead, was in possession of a crack pipe, he added.
After placing the two men under arrest, officers then searched Rockhead's home and found additional crack cocaine, as well as four children in the home ranging in age from 5 to 17, said Ramos.
The Department of Children and Family Services were notified of the incident and the children were left in the care of a suitable adult.
Rockhead was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack with intent to sell, possession of drugs within 1,500 feet of a housing complex, risk of injury to a child, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on $100,000 bond, Ramos said.
