The supervisor, who took office last January, previously served as a town councilman.

The media outlet said it had scrutinized the budgets of 26 towns and villages and found that elected officials in more than a third of them had gotten pay raises ranging from $250 to $21,000.

Hoehmann pulls down $170,309 a year, a salary that is nearly $25,000 more than that of Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence, who makes $145,574 a year, lohud.com reported.

Clarkstown’s population is 85,000, while Ramapo’s is 130,064.

Coming in at No. 3 on the list is Howard T. Phillips, supervisor of the town of Haverstraw with a salary of $115,790; No. 4 is Spring Valley mayor Demeza Delhomme, who makes $115,000 a year, the lohud.com story said.

Andy Stewart, the supervisor of Orangetown, is fifth on the list and earns $104,503 annually.

The lohud.com analysis found that 15 communities in Westchester and three in Putnam also doled out pay raises; this trend may be a reaction to years of leaner budgets due to the national economic woes and the state imposed tax cap.
