PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- Howard Walter, of Pearl River, died Tuesday, Aug. 16. He was 90.
He was born May 1, 1926, in Lynbrook, to Alfred and Effie Walter. He was a graduate of Malvern High School's Class of 1943 and received a bachelors degree in chemistry in 1949 from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.
Walter was a systems manager at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River for 40 years, retiring in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Curtisteen; sons, Alan (Patti), Craig (Janice) and David (Barbara); daughter, Barbara (Brian) Taylor; grandchildren, Jessica (Antony) LaBozetta, Timothy (Jenn), Katherine (Donovan) Saul, DL (Tiffany), Lindsay (Michael) Greany, Stacy (Keith) Stancu, Tom (Stephanie), Casey and Hal Walter; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lucy, Daniel and Alec Walter and Julia Saul.
A funeral service will be cnducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Baptist Church, 20 Demarest Ave., Nanuet. Burial will follow at Nanuet Cemetery. Visiting is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
