The Westport Public Schools will be testing an alarm and voice alert system, police said. When the alarm testing begins, an alert will sound for about five minutes on both the internal and external horns at the school.

"We wanted to inform the public of the scheduled testing, and not to be alarmed if they hear the audible alert coming from a school during this weeklong time period," police said in a statement.

The Westport Police Department will continue to work with the Westport Public Schools during the scheduled alarm testing at the school buildings.
