Becker Salon has been a longtime supporter of Kids in Crisis and has consistently donated to the organization through salon promotions. A Kids in Crisis plaque is displayed in the salon that recognizes the organization’s appreciation. In addition, this past spring, Becker Salon awarded Executive Director Shari Shapiro with the salon’s first Leadership Award.

Kids in Crisis is Connecticut’s only free, round-the-clock agency providing emergency shelter, crisis counseling and community educational programs for children of all ages and families dealing with a wide range of crises—domestic violence, mental health and family problems, substance abuse, economic difficulties and more.

Since its founding in 1978, Kids in Crisis, based in Cos Cob, Conn., has helped more than 118,000 Connecticut children and families. Last year, more than 6,000 children and families in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton received assistance from the organization.

Becker Salon, which celebrated its fifth anniversary last year, has cultivated a large following in and around Greenwich. Chicaiza and his staff carefully adhere to their mission, which is to highlight the beauty of everyone who enters the salon with the magic touch of their hands.
