A man with a gun robbed a clerk who was counting cash from the register at the Red Bean Sushi Restaurant in Westport on Sunday night, police said. A man wearing a dark mask entered the restaurant at 1711 Post Road E. at about 9:50 p.m. and pointed a revolver-type handgun at the clerk, police said. The suspect then took the cash off the counter and fled.
No one was hurt in the robbery. Police used a dog to search the area, but the suspect was not found. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-5, with short hair and wearing a dark mask. He was wearing a black coat and dark hat. Anyone with information is asked to call the Westport Police Department at 203-341-6000 or the Detective Bureau at 203-341-6082.
