Cafero Endorses Fedele

House Republican Leader Larry Cafero has endorsed Michael Fedele for Governor. Cafero, who represents the 142nd District that includes Norwalk, said he expects Fedele to address “the hard choices” the state needs to make in the current economic climate.

“Mike Fedele has the knowledge, the vision and the values to align Connecticut’s state government with fiscal reality,” Cafero said in a written statement. "He is someone who knows how to make the tough fiscal decisions our state needs right now while also understanding the personal sacrifices that goes with each cut, consolidation or privatization of a government service."

According to Fedele’s campaign, the lieutenant governor has earned the support of more than a third of the Republican members of the General Assembly and nearly half of Connecticut's Republican mayors and first selectmen. He has also gained the endorsements of 23 "super-delegates" to the Republican Convention that will be held on May 22.

Cafero had considered running for governor, but decided to pursue another term as state representative.
