The home at 72 Guard Hill Road is listed for $5,895,000 by Douglas Elliman agent Camille Branca. She will host an open house on Sunday, Feb. 7, from 1-3 p.m.

“It’s completely private and noise free,’’ Branca said. “It’s reminiscent of an old stone manor but it’s a fairly new construction.”

The home was built in 2009, and includes 6 full bathrooms, two half baths and 12,000 square feet. It is set on 11.3 acres on the Bedford Riding Lanes Association, which connects more than 100-plus miles of horse riding trails through Bedford and Katonah. Bedford is one of the only areas on the East Coast with extensive riding trails, Branca said.

Besides the privacy, Branca feels the home’s architecture is its most distinguishing characteristic. “It’s a beautiful country setting with 100 tons of Connecticut stone,’’ Branca said. “The stonework throughout the property is elegant. What’s breathtaking is the inground pool in back and looking up towards the house. There’s also an amazing outdoor fireplace. You can just imagine yourself there and having these beautiful parties.”

Despite its size, the home also exudes warmth. It features handsome lines, fine detailing, 100-year-old Canadian beams, white oak floors and paneling, antique mantels, Venetian plaster walls and an opulent master bath.

“The way the house is constructed, the rooms and the interior scale very comfortably,’’ Branca said. “There’s not this sense of being overwhelmed.”

Mount Kisco architect Ken Nadler designed the home, which was built by Larry Matlin.

Some other unique features include a wine cellar that can accommodate 1,500-plus bottles with a humidor and Speakeasy door and a first floor office or library with a wet bar, private bath and double French doors that lead out to a stone terrace. There is also a pool house and barn that can be used to house livestock or be converted to a music studio or professional office space.
