Bramson joined a coalition of mayors speaking out against the measure that would effectively "repeal and replace" the Affordable Care Act put in place under former President Barack Obama.

"The legislation has been roundly panned by health care experts on both the right and the left, and it is not clear what exactly the bill is even intended to accomplish other that satisfying campaign pledges to repeal Obamacare at any cost," Bramson said in a blog post

The letter was also signed by Mount Vernon's Richard Thomas.

GOP leaders are working to get the measure passed in the House, which will vote on the bill on Thursday.
