New Rochelle Community Activist Endorses Astorino

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.-- Ron H. Williams, president of the New Rochelle branch of the NAACP has endorsed County Executive Robert Astorino's bid for re-election.

"...I am endorsing Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino for re-election based on his fiscal stewardship, his clear compassion for people in need and for his ability to listen," Williams said. "I was particularly impressed by his leadership in helping keep the Oasis shelter and the Family Court in New Rochelle open."

In endorsing, Astorino for re-election, Williams joins other prominent Westchester Democrats who have endorsed the first term incumbent for re-election, including former 19-year Democratic State Assemblyman Ronald Tocci (D-New Rochelle); Mount Vernon City Councilwoman Deborah Reynolds (D-Mount Vernon); the Rev. Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson and Jewish community leaders Martine Fleishman and Nancy Zaro.

"I am enormously grateful to Mr. Williams for his friendship and support," Astorino said. "Mr. Williams and the New Rochelle NAACP are an integral resource to this county, and I have long admired their dedication and hard work."
