Moreland Commission Leaders Thought Cuomo Intervened, Says Report

ALBANY, N.Y. – A letter attached to papers filed by former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s lawyers states that senior officials of the Moreland Commission believed Gov. Andrew Cuomo inappropriately intervened in the panel’s work, reports the New York Times.

Officials for the state anticorruption commission that Cuomo disbanded within nine months of its creation said the governor and his staff interfered in a way that made them question the panel’s independence, according to the report.
