Winkler, who grew up in Mahopac and starred as "Fonzie" in the hit TV series, took on Donald Trump in an interview on MSNBC with host Hugh Hewitt.

Winkler said he thinks Trump "is completely self-possessed or obsessed. And it's very interesting. This is what he does. When the crowd goes wild for him, he moves his ear closer to the sound. You watch it; it happens every time."

Winkler also said newly installed White House Chief of Staff, retired Gen. John Kelly, has an impossible job.

"Eventually the job is going to beat him over the head until he bleeds from his skull," Winkler said of Kelly.

Asked if he had anything good to say about Trump, Winkler, after thinking, said, "I'll get back to you on that."

Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor.

The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
