Earlier this week, Trump announced that Sayegh was named as the appointee for assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Treasury. His nomination was among several made by the White House on Tuesday.

According to the White House, Sayegh was first elected to office in 2003, when he served two terms as a Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor in Tuckahoe. His time as a politician also included failed runs on the Eastchester Town Board and New York State Assembly.

As a student at The George Washington University, Sayegh was elected as the Executive Vice President of the Student Association and awarded a Presidential Administrative Fellowship to pursue his graduate education. He also served on the university’s Board of Trustees.

Sayegh now serves as a Republican strategist, political analyst and contributor to several Fox News programs. He is a former Executive Vice President of Jamestown Associates, where he won Reed Awards for “Most Original TV Advertisement” and “Best Comparative Mail Piece,” according to the White House.

Trump, who owns the $19.5 million Seven Springs estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor.

The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
