Yonkers Woman Threw Baby From Seventh Floor Window, Police Say

BRONX, N.Y. -- A 33-year-old Yonkers woman was behind bars Tuesday after allegedly tossing her newborn daughter to her death from a seventh floor window, according to the New York Daily News.

According to the paper, Jennifer Berry, a former Administration for Children's Services employee, gave birth to the unnamed girl in the shower of a 183rd St. apartment a short time before the child's body was discovered in the building's courtyard about 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Berry is believed to have residences in Yonkers and the Bronx, the story said. Her boyfriend, Giovanni Johnson, 28, was questioned by police about the death, but later released, according to the report.
