Yonkers Detectives Apprehend Lawrence Street Shooting Suspect

YONKERS, N.Y. – Authorities have apprehended the man they believe is responsible for a shooting at a Lawrence Street deli, according to the Yonkers Police Department.

Pedro Dimas, 30, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Dimas allegedly shot at a 21-year-old man inside the deli at 27 Lawrence Street, police said. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds and is expected to survive his injuries.

The investigation revealed a history of at least one dispute between Dimas and the victim, according to police. Officials declined to elaborate further on the nature of the relationship between Dimas and the victim.

City detectives are still investigating the case, and ask anyone with information to call the department at 914-377-7724. Calls will remain confidential.
