Shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, patrol officers spotted a Hyundai with New Hampshire license plates on Brite Avenue, with a male passenger sleeping in the front seat of the vehicle.

Police said that the officers attempted to wake the passenger, whose name was not disclosed, who was covered in vomit, prompting them to request an ambulance after several attempts to wake him were unsuccessful.

According to police, a paramedic was successful in waking the man from his slumber, and after being awoken, he told officers that “he did not remember the night, and only remembers getting food.” He also stated that he thought that he was in Brooklyn, “did not know who he was with or where that person may have gone.”

Officers spoke his girlfriend, who stated her boyfriend of two weeks was drinking with friends and she was unsure of what he was doing in Scarsdale. Due to his highly intoxicated state, lack of a drivers license and lack of family members to respond to the scene, the man agreed to leave the area of the taxi and have the owner of the vehicle retrieve the car.

Police later recovered a driver’s license, two other identifying cards, a black Kindle and a key fob for a Nissan motor vehicle. The car was subsequently impounded and the items secured at Scarsdale Police Headquarters.
