Victim, Suspect ID'd In Fatal New Rochelle Stabbing

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The victim and suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred Thursday night in New Rochelle were identified by authorities late Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 6:37 p.m. when units from the New Rochelle Police Department responded to multiple calls of a disturbance at 138 Winthrop Ave, where they located the man with a serious stab wound to his chest in front of 138 Winthrop Ave.

The man was transported by ambulance to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where he subsequently died from the wound at approximately 1 a.m. Friday.

The man has been identified as Dennis Graham, 60, 138 Winthrop Ave. New Rochelle Police Units also located a female party in the vicinity believed to be a participant in this incident. She is identified as Jonitha Alston, 30, of the same address. After an Investigation, Alston was charged with manslaughter in the first degree and arraigned by a New Rochelle City Court Judge. She was remanded to the Westchester County Jail. There are no suspects at large and the participants were in a relationship with each other.

This Incident continues to be actively investigated as a Homicide by the New Rochelle Police Detective Division, The NYC Medical Examiner’s Office and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
