NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -A pair of New Rochelle firefighters have been disciplined after they were arrested on drug charges last month.
According to a report , firefighter Babatunde Ogunleye has been suspended without pay, while probationary firefighter Virgilio Torres has been terminated following their arrests in White Plains last month with a third party after they were allegedly observed snorting cocaine in a car.
Following the arrests last month, the two were immediately suspended. City officials have declined to comment on any personnel issues. The two were charged with possession of a controlled substance and two bags of the drug were reportedly recovered by arresting officers.
Fire officials did not immediately respond to phone inquiries late on Wednesday afternoon.
Ogunleye was sworn into his position in 2013 . He earned a citation for his service in July 2015. Keep following Daily Voice for more information as it becomes available.
