UPDATE, 6:10 p.m.: The female pedestrian hit by a vehicle at North Avenue and Eastchester Road was transported to Sound Shore Medical Center, where she was treated and released, New Rochelle Police Department Lt. George Marshall said. No one else was hurt in the two accidents.
Original story: NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Two separate accidents caused traffic tie-ups on North Avenue in New Rochelle late Tuesday afternoon.
A vehicle rear-ended a police car at Beechmont Drive and North Avenue, causing minor damage, New Rochelle Police Lt. George Marshall said.
A female pedestrian was then hit shortly afterward at North Avenue and Eastchester Road. She was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
Traffic was reportedly back to normal on the roadway.
New Rochelle police were investigating the incidents.
