NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. New Rochelle police charged two people with stealing items from two businesses, New Rochelle Police Department Capt. Joseph Schaller said Wednesday.
Asha Makris, 52, of 14 Leffingwell Place, New Rochelle, was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, in connection with the theft of $81 worth of food, and office products from Stop & Shop at 28 Harrison St.
Albert Cameron, 45, of 4138 Bronxwood Ave., the Bronx, was also was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, aftyer an incident at Home Depot, 55 Weyman Ave. He was accused of trying to take $98 in hardware supplies.
A third theft was reported at the Key Food Superstore, 366 Pelham Road, police said. A blue Honda Accord was seeing driving away from the scene, police said.
The following items also were reported by the New Rochelle police:
Burglary: A $2,000 boiler was taken from the basement of a home at 27 Hemingway Ave. between 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Monday. The home is unoccupied. There were no signs of forced entry.
Burglary: A water meter was found ripped and the copper piping missing from the basement of a 30 Allard Ave. home between 8 p.m. July 27 and 8 p.m. Tuesday. There is work being done at the house and it is unoccupied. The back door was found unlocked, and the kitchen torn apart. The basement also was flooded.
