NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Three apartments on the same street were burglarized over the weekend, New Rochelle Police Department Capt. Joseph Schaller said.
An Apple laptop computer, and assorted tools were taken from a 1 Stonelea Place apartment Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Schaller said. The apartment was entered through an unlocked window leading to a fire escape. The resident is putting a list together of what else is missing. Police also investigated another burglary in another apartment below the one where the first one occurred.
In another incident across the street at a 2 Stonelea Place, $50, five John F. Kennedy half dollar coins, and an old silver pocket watch were taken. The apartment was entered through the bedroom window leading to a fire escape after its screen was pulled out.
The following item also were reported by New Rochelle Police:
Theft From Auto: A $350 Global Positioning System device, and $300 pocket knife were taken from a 2002 Mercedes Benz belonging to a 43 year-old New Rochelle resident. There were no signs of forced entry.
