Westchester Woman Leaves Toddlers In Car To Go Shopping, Police Say

A 37-year-old Northern Westchester woman was arrested and charged after she left her two children in the car to shop at Toys 'R' Us near the Jefferson Valley Mall on Thursday, police say.

Kary Sarrey of Somers was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor. Police said Sarrey left her 2-year-old child and 8-month-old child unattended in the car for more than 15 minutes.

She was arrested at the scene and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on Dec. 14.
