NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – A 55-year-old New Rochelle woman was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday while in her car at North and Sickles avenues, New Rochelle police Capt. Joseph Schaller said.
The woman said a man stuck a handgun through the vehicle’s rear driver-side window, pointed it at her and took her purse containing $300.
The man, described as in his 20s, fled westbound on Sickles Avenue.
The following items also were reported by New Rochelle police.
Home Burglary: Two bedrooms in a home in the 1000 block of North Avenue were ransacked during a burglary Tuesday. Fresh pry marks were found on a sliding glass door in the rear of the house. Multiple pieces of jewelry were taken. The value of the missing items was undetermined.
Apartment Burglary: A hand sander was discovered missing after a burglary Monday night into Tuesday morning at an apartment building on Warren Street. The apartment is undergoing renovations, and a 33-year-old New Rochelle contractor reported the break-in Tuesday. The first-floor door to the building had been forced open, and debris was found in the apartment.
