NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - After nearly a decade of loyal service, the New Rochelle Police Department has said goodbye to one of its most beloved, busy and boisterous officers.

Following a seven year career of faithful service to the city, Chase, a member of the New Rochelle Police Department’s K-9 Unit worked his final day last week, and will now trot into retirement.

Now that he’s been presented with his metaphorical golden collar, Chase will enter retirement and enjoy his newfound downtime with his longtime handler, Officer Craig Wolf.

In a post on Facebook, the department memorialized Chase’s time in the city, thanking him for his service to the community.

“After more than seven years of commendable service to the New Rochelle Police Department, K-9 Chase is working his last day. We wish him a happy and long retirement. Chase will remain with his best friend and handler, P.O. Craig Wolf.”
