New Rochelle Police Continue Investigating Car Fire Death

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – New Rochelle firefighters were treated to a grizzly scene on Sunday morning, Nov, 16, after extinguishing a car fire and discovering a dead body in the back seat.

Shortly before 6 a.m., police and firefighters responded to a reported car fire outside of County Beverages on Webster Avenue. After battling the blaze for nearly a half hour, firefighters discovered the body of 32-year-old Rafael Manzo, who lived nearby.

According to News12, Manzo died of smoke inhalation, and the medical examiner ruled the death accidental.
