New Rochelle Police Chase Ends In Arrest

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- A Texas man is under arrest after he was accused of fleeing Westchester County Police on the Hutchinson River Parkway in New Rochelle during an attempted traffic stop.

Dave Wright, 43, of Dallas, was accused of driving off when a police officer attempted to stop Wright for speeding on Tuesday morning.

As the officer pursued Wright, his vehicle was struck by another car. The officer suffered minor injuries.

A description of Wright’s vehicle was broadcast over police radio. Eastchester Police stopped the vehicle at Alida and Brook Streets in Eastchester and turned Wright over to county police.

Wright is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving and fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.

He is due to be arraigned in New Rochelle City Court on Wednesday.
