New Rochelle Man Robbed Early Wednesday Morning

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – A 46-year-old New Rochelle resident was attacked and robbed by a group of assailants at 311 North Ave. early Wednesday, New Rochelle Police Capt. Joseph Schaller said.

Schaller said three or four individuals jumped the man and hit him in the face with a beer bottle before snatching $180 and a bag with undisclosed contents.

Officers found the man lying on the ground with severe cuts on his face and a swollen right eye.

The man was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center. He was later transported to Westchester County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The following items also were reported by New Rochelle Police.

Theft From Vehicle: The front left  and right rear wheels were taken from a 2006 Honda Accord on Glencar Avenue. The other two wheels were loosened.

Theft From Vehicle: Assorted Dewalt tools valued at $400 and $800 worth of Milwaukee tools were taken from a 2003 Chevrolet van in the rear parking lot at Home Depot, 55 Weyman Ave., mid-day Tuesday. The lock on the passenger side door was broken.
