New Rochelle Man Charged In Attempted Burglary

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – New Rochelle Police charged a city man in the attempted apartment break-in Wednesday night, New Rochelle Police Department Capt. Joseph Schaller said.

Michael Lanza, 51, of 25 Lockwood Ave., was charged with second-degree attempted burglary, illegal entry into an another apartment at the multiple family house, and fourth- degree criminal mischief  in connection with trying to get into a neighbor’s apartment.

Lanza was arrested at his apartment.

The following items also were reported by New Rochelle Police:

Theft From Auto: A pizza delivery driver’s $150 iPhone was taken from his 2007 Toyota as he made a delivery to 260 Centre Ave., sometime after 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Theft From Auto: A $100 purse was taken from the back seat of a 2010 Lexus parked at Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday. The purse contained identification and credit cards.
