New Rochelle Firefighters Suspended Following Arrest On Drug Charges

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - A pair of New Rochelle probationary firefighters have been suspended after they were allegedly arrested on drug charges.

According to multiple reports, Babatunde Ogunleye, Girgilio Torres and a third party were arrested in White Plains over the weekend after they were allegedly observed snorting cocaine in a car.

The two were immediately suspended and city officials have been mum regarding the incident. According to police, the three men involved were charged with possession of a controlled substance and released without bail. They are due back in court on Thursday, Oct. 27. 

Ogunleye was sworn in as a probationary officer in 2013. He earned a citation for his service in July 2015.
