On Wednesday, the New Rochelle Fire Department hosted the annual Promotion and Awards Ceremony, where Mayor Noam Bramson, fire department Chaplin Father Martin Biglin and Fire Chief Louis DiMelgio honored 50 firefighters with the Life Saving and Unit Citation Award.
Additionally, firefighter Steven Fridovich was sworn into the department in Council Chambers at City Hall. Lt. Anthony Margiotti and firefighters Jared McLean were the recipients of the Unit Citation Award for their role in delivering a healthy baby girl last month on Sept. 16.
“These awards are recognitions of (the firefighters’) amazing acts of courage and bravery throughout the year,” city officials said in a statement celebrating the department and its members.
