Man Faces DWI Charges After Crash On I-95 In New Rochelle

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A 25-year-old Mamaroneck man has been charged with driving while intoxicated following an accident on I-95 in New Rochelle on Saturday, state police said.

At approximately 9:24 p.m., police responded to I-95 at Exit 18B after a report of a one-vehicle accident. The driver of the vehicle who struck the center median, Giovanni Pena,  was found to be intoxicated, state police said. 

Pena was transported and processed at state police barracks in New Rochelle, where he refused to submit to a breath test, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Pena was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Mamaroneck Court on Sept. 10.
