NEW ROCHELLE, N. Y. -- A 37-year-old Darien, Conn., man is facing criminal charges, including DWI, after police said he crashed his car in a New Rochelle neighborhood on Saturday, June 18, then broke into a nearby house and threatened a resident with a knife, lohud.com says.

Angel Luis Acevedo is being held on $100,000 bail in Westchester County Jail and charged with first-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief. Also, he was charged with the misdemeanors of driving while intoxicated, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing, lohud.com reports.

It all started around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when police were called about a minivan crashing into parked cars along Sickles Avenue. Police said he broke windows to enter into a nearby house, requiring a dozen stitches in his arm, lohud.com says.
