NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — A Westchester man was arrested Saturday while allegedly trying to get into a parked car in the area of Division Street and Leroy Place, New Rochelle Police Police Capt. Joseph Schaller reported.
When arrested, Richard Maiolini, 61, who listed three addresses in Westchester County, was wearing a backpack containing items taken from a 1996 Honda Civic parked at 50 North Ave., Schaller said. He was charged with fifth degree-criminal possession of stolen property.
Police found Maiolini while he was trying to open a door of a Chevy Avalanche in the area of Division Street, Schaller said.

Nearly $1,000 worth of tools were taken from a 2004 Mazda in the rear parking lot of Stop & Shop, 28 Harrison St.
A New Rochelle man was charged with DWI after his 2000 Nissan Maxima allegedly struck two parked cars Saturday at 586 North Ave., Police Sgt. Myron Joseph said.
Samuel Perry, 61, of 21 Third St., Apt 3A, was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Officers found a bag of cocaine in the lower compartment of the Maxima’s driver side door while they were searching the vehicle, Myron said.
