On Friday, Feb. 10, police were dispatched to Webster Road, where a homeowner returned home from a party following multiple security notifications from his personal security system warning that the residence had been entered.

The homeowner told police that he left his home at 7 p.m. to attend a party on Lee Road. He received one text notification at 7:59 p.m. that a back sliding door had been opened, and a second at 8:28 p.m. that an interior garage door was opened, prompting him to return home and alert police, who were at the scene just minutes later.

According to police, the suspect made entry through the rear door, taking several items from the first two floors of the home, using two pillowcases taken from the master bedroom to hold the stolen items. Police reported that several rooms were “heavily tossed” and that a closet door and filing cabinet were damaged.

The homeowner reported that two MacBook computers and a safe containing personal documents were stolen during the incident, police said. Police determined that the suspect exited through the front door, which had been left closed and locked. There were indiscernible footprints at the scene, and police recovered a screwdriver, which was recovered in the master bedroom. The investigation is ongoing.
