William Francis Simpson, 68, Former New Rochelle Resident

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - William “Bill” Francis Simpson died Sept. 9. He was 68. 

Simpson was born Oct. 25, 1944, in New Rochelle. He graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1963. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He attended Westchester Community College and a master’s program at City College of New York. After marriage he lived with his wife in North Carolina and soon after moved to Southern California, eventually settling in New Rochelle.

Simpson then moved to Milford, in 1987 with his wife. He was a vocational teacher and later owned his own carpentry business, Simpson Construction.

Simpson is survived by his wife, Jeane Simpson of Milford, Conn.; daughter, Stephanie Simpson Lazenby (Clifton); two granddaughters; and siblings and their families, Frank (Kathleen) Simpson of New Rochelle, Lillian (Dennis) Howley of Fairfax, Va., Deborah Arleth of Boca Raton, Fla., Anthony (Pamela) Giarla of Seymour, Conn., Michael (Carol) Giarla of Cleveland, Tenn., and Thaddeus (Antonietta) Giarla of Boca Raton, Fla. He was predeceased his brother, Joseph Clifford Simpson.

A Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at The Holy Name of Jesus Church, 75 Lispenard Ave., New Rochelle.
