Zack was a 2013 graduate of North Salem High School and a student at Marist College. This past semester, he worked as an intern at Madison Square Garden in public relations.

He is survived by his parents, Phyllis and Alfred, and his brother, Ethan.

He was born with cystic fibrosis and battled medical obstacles his whole life, including a double lung transplant, post transplant lymphoma and finally chronic rejection of his lungs.

His courage inspired his friends and everybody who heard his story. His sense of humor and love of sports attracted a wealth of friends.

Marist College chose him as one of its "100 Inspiring Students."

His funeral will be Sunday, Aug. 6 at 9:30 a.m. at Temple Israel of Northern Westchester, 31 Glengary Rd., Croton-on-Hudson, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Zachary's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Greater New York Chapter or Donate Life America.
