Werner K. Schlupp, 84, New Rochelle Resident

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Werner Schlupp, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died Monday, May 23. He was 84.

He was born March 4, 1932. A Korean War veteran, he served on the USS Murray for four years in the U.S. Navy. He was best known for his love of history, ability to fix anything, positive outlook, sense of humor and love for his family.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sonja Luehrs; three children, Susan Fow and Jimmy and Kenny Schlupp; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 95 Eastchester Road, New Rochelle. Interment will be private.
