NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Wendy Rosen Landes, a New Rochelle native and the namesake of the cancer research charity Wendy Walk, died March 14.
Landes' children started Wendy Walk in 2010 after their mother was diagnosed with liposarcoma, a cancer that develops in the body's fat cells.
The annual fundraising walk takes place annually in Los Angles, New York City and Miami, and has raised over $1 million.
Landes was born and raised in New Rochelle, N.Y. She was a family law attorney based in Santa Monica, Calif., who specialized in alternatives to divorce.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Ali, Matt and Jackie; her parents, Rita and Philip Rosen; and her sister, Phyllis, and brother, Michael, and their families.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 20, at 12 p.m., at Temple Israel, 1000 Pinebrook Blvd, New Rochelle, New York.
Donations in Landes’s memory may be made to the Wendy Walk (www.wendywalk.com).
