NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Stephen Clemens Murphy, of New Rochelle died on Tuesday, April 26. He was 47 years old.
Born in Bronxville to Joan Clemens and James J. Murphy, he grew up in Pelham and attended Siwanoy Elementary School.
He went to Fordham Preparatory School and then Denison University in Ohio where he graduated with a degree in economics.
Murohy worked for the Department of Social Services in Westchester County for more than 20 years most recently as a program manager.
He was a charter member of the golf team for the Department of Social Services and a trivia team in his hometown of Pelham at B and Bs.
Murphy is survived by his mother Joan; and his brother, James and sister-in-law, Lynn.
A celebration of Murphy's life will be held at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave. in Pelham on Thursday, April 28 until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle. Interment will be private.
