NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Shirley Rock Starke of New Rochelle died June 7. She was 86.
Born Sept. 19, 1925, in Amityville, N.Y., she was the daughter of Harry and Jane Rock. She attended local schools and received a nursing degree. Starke worked as an operating room nurse.
She is survived by three sons, George L. Starke, of Washington, D.C., William Starke and Jon Stark, both of New Rochelle; a brother, Harry Rock; a sister, Carol Watson; several grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffery Starke.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Bronxville. A funeral service will immediately follow. Barney T. McClanahan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
