Rudolph Boettigheimer, 94, Longtime New Rochelle, WWII Veteran

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Rudolph "Rudy" Boettigheimer, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Jan. 6. He was 94.

Boettigheimer was born March 13, 1919, in New Brunswick, N.J., to Rudolph and Eleanore Dunn Boettigheimer. He was a retired salesman of fine furniture for over 30 years for the George Fennell & Co. in Mt. Vernon. He served in the Army during WorldWar II in C Battery, 327 Field Artillery, 84th Infantry Division and was awarded the Bronze Star for military operations. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and attended 25 years of Army "Rail Splitter" reunions.

Boettigheimer is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Kathleen deMaCarty, David (Roseann Consolo) , Thomas (Beth Danzig), Stephen (Debora Jablonka), James (Margaret Rosenzweig) and Barbara (John) Leone; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert and Bernard Boettigheimer. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Jan. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel , 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Hospital , Bronx.
