YONKERS, N.Y. – Rosemarie Shaefer of New Rochelle and formerly of Yonkers died Sept. 2. She was 77.
She was born June 22, 1935, in New Rochelle. Shaefer worked as a registered nurse and served as director of infection control at St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers, where she was employed for 35 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, James F. Shaefer. She is survived by a son, James W. (Sheryl) Shaefer; a sister, Kathleen Peters; a brother, Leonard Bauer; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at F. Ruggiero and Sons Funeral Home in Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church in Yonkers. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Yonkers.
