NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Rocco Varbaro, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died June 18. He was 89.
Varbaro was born July 5, 1926, in Scilla, Reggio Calabria, Italy, to Rocco and Antonia (nee Labozetta) Varbaro.
He was predeceased by his parents and wife Maria (nee Arbitrio).
Varbaro is survived by two sons, Pat and his wife Kathy, and Anthony; two daughters, Nancy DiMarino and her husband Robert and Flavia Garufi and her husband Chris; six grandchildren; two brothers, Giuseppe and his wife Grazia and Antonio and his wife Santa; sister Giuseppa Imbesi; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are on from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church, 83 Clove Road, New Rochelle.
Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
