Picchianti was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Yonkers, to Joseph and Vera (nee Prota) Picchianti. He attended Manhattan College. He worked as a computer programmer analyst in New Rochelle for 26 years, then moved to Vermont where he worked for IBM until he retired.
Picchianti is survived by his wife, Rosemary; sons, Robert, Anthony and Joseph Picchianti; and four grandchildren.
Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 18 and Friday, Sept. 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 72 East Main St., Elmsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
