Rev. Br. Daniel A. Lauber CFC, 60, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Reverend Brother Daniel A. Lauber C.F.C. of New Rochelle died July 20. He was 60.

Br. Lauber was born Jan. 9, 1954, in Massena, N.Y. and was the son of Allan G. and M. Jean Deshaies Lauber. He entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers Sept. 5, 1972, taking his first vows Aug. 12, 1974, and final vows June 21, 1980. After attending St. Mary's Elementary and Holy Family High School in Massena, he received his BS and MS in Biology from Iona College. He went on to receive an MA in counseling-psychology from Manhattan College in N.Y. His ministry took him to many positions including Edmund Rice Hall, New Rochelle, Bishop Hendricken High School, Warwick, R.I., All Hallows High School, Bronx, Catholic Memorial High School, West Roxbury, Mass., Blessed Sacrament-St. Gabriel High School, New Rochelle, St. Joseph Catholic School, Madison, Miss., and the Christian Brothers Community in Madison, Miss.

Br. Lauber is survived by his sisters, Nancy Fregoe, Donna Lauber and Debra Levac.

Calling hours are Friday, July 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Joseph Care Center, 30 Montgomery Circle, New Rochelle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26 at Holy Family Church, Mayflower Ave., New Rochelle.
