NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Rachel Kriegel, 87, died on WednesdaymJan. 28.
A Holocaust survivor, Kriegel emigrated from Poland to the U.S. with her husband in 1946.
They made their home primarily in New Rochelle and Riverdale, N.Y., and started a home furnishings store, The Interior Shop, in Larchmont, in 1972. She loved Russian music and dancing, and was an accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey, Fred (Diane) and Henry; and two grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ira.
Shalom Jewish Funeral Home, 1528 Castle Hill Ave. the Bronx, 718-828-1700, handled the arrangements. Services were held at Beth David Cemetery.
