Ortwin Meyer, 88, Co-Founder Of New Rochelle School

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Ortwin August Meyer, a New Rochelle resident, died Feb. 26,  in New Rochelle. He was 88.

Meyer was born in Bous-Saar to August and Hedwig Meyer on March 16, 1924.

He worked as a Civil Engineer and was co-founder of Hudson Country Montessori School in New Rochelle. He enjoyed building, flying planes and his grandchildren, his family said.

Meyer is survived by his wife of 64 years, Musya Meyer; son, Mark Meyer, daughter-in-law, Megin Meyer; and  grandchildren, Nicholas and Katherine. He was predeceased by his  daughter, Lynne Campbell.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 4 Fountain Square, Larchmont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
