New Rochelle native Helen Galog.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Helen M. Galog of Fairfield, died Sunday, Sept. 27, at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. She was 104.

She was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., to Harry and Annie Skinner, and moved to Fairfield in 1931. 

She was a nursery school teacher for 28 years at the First Church Congregational, Fairfield, and the Southport Congregational Church.

Galog was a longtime member of First Church Congregational in Fairfield.

Her joys in life were working with children and travel. She was an outdoor enthusiast, avid swimmer and camper. Travel destinations included the United States, New Zealand, Europe and Caribbean islands.

She is survived by sons, James Harry Galog (Mary), of New Zealand, and Edwin P. Galog (Jeanne); grandchildren, James, Stephen, Andrew and Donald Galog, Susan Hargus, Lara Curran and Chansey Luby; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Luke, Larissa, Johnny, Cael and Randall; and several nieces and nephews. 

Galog was predeceased by her husband, James Galog; and her siblings, Mildred, Dorothy, Anna, Harry, Walter, and William.

Services will be private.
