Nello A. Amori, 93, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Nello A. Amori, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on May 25. He was 93.

Amori was born on Nov. 28, 1921, to Francesco and Francesca (nee Luttazzi) Amori.

He was a former recreation director for the New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department.

He served during World War II as staff sergeant in the 15th Army Air Force Liberator Bombardment Group in Italy.

Amori is survived by his wife, Anne DeVivo Amori; his two daughters, Linda Amori, June Amori; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a brother Albert Amori and his wife Linda.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Edmond and Manfredo Amori, and sister Evelyn Caputo. 

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place in New Rochelle.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church.

Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
